Guardia Civil has recovered seven paintings in Madrid and made four arrests. The artworks, which include one by Dalí and another by Sorolla, were taken from a chalet in Adanero, Ávila in 2002. They were found in the Madrid town of Valdemoro. The other works are by Rosen Roses, Gustavo Doré, a portrait of Hernán Cortés from the 16th century, and a drawing by Nicanor Piñole. Three men and a woman have been arrested, and the value of the works recovered is estimated to be 4 million €. Investigations were centered in those close to the man who reported the paintings stolen and it is reported that fingerprint evidence is key.
